In 2004, at the Brookside Airport,
there was a camouflaged Cessna O-2

Now, from the Indy Airshow, several aircraft could -repeat, could- be IN based, but I don't have the time right now to dig for registrations:

There was a T-28 in Vietnamese markings.
There was a T-34 in "aggressor" (Blue) markings.

Last year there was a Cessna A-37B, but again, I don't know where it is based.

The A-37 is owned by Jim Read and based at Valpo.

The OV-1 that was at Terre Haute was traded to the the "Sky Soldiers" airshow act from Georgia last winter. They got it ferriable and flew it back to Georgia for further restoration. The School recieved a King Air in the trade that was flown to Terre Haute. It represents a much more common type for use in instructional programs than a Mohawk.

In regards to the TBF of Harland Avezzie, it was the one that the musuem had in it's possession and it was, I believe, the very first WWII Navy aircraft recovered from Lake Michigan way back in 1979.

what ever happened to the Northern Indiana Aviation Museum in Goshen, IN. If I recall correctly the museum was home to several static display aircraft and a flyable C-45 and TBM Avenger. Any ideas?

Matt (kalamazookid)- Have you been to the Indiana Aviation Museum in Valpo. If not I suggest checking it out next season. The museum is scheduled to re-open on April 29!

I've been wanting to go down to Valpo for awhile but for some reason or another its never worked out. Hopefully next year! I looked for NIAM at the Goshen Freedom Fest and I couldn't find any info anywhere. Neither the C-45 or T-6 was on display either, which makes me think that the museum isn't around anymore.

Yes. N4179A is a real L-17. (s/n 48-922)

I'm sure there are quite a few Navions as well. N4179A's flying buddy is N8574H which is just a good old Ryan Navion...but painted in military markings.
