This "second" registration occurred when Ron Sathre registered his ownership of the wreckage. It is not a second aircraft. Dave Trojan's assessment of why the wreckage has not been recovered is correct (thanks, Dave).
Also, the PB4Y-2's data plate was located on the instrument panel, pilot's side, to the right of the control column and directly above the pilot's knee. (See "Convair PB4Y-2/P4Y-2 Privateer" -- No. 93 in the Naval Fighters Series -- by Veronico and Ginter). There are photos on pages 44 and 45. Nick
