The reason for having two theme aircraft (Spitfires/Skyraiders) is becouse of the low numbers of each around. The reason for doing spits/skyraiders next year was becouse they are so different and will appeal to a larger crowed (if your not into british aircraft maybe your into veitnam/korea era aircraft)?

And yes we will have a static area with a yale, harvered, tiger moth and other british training aircraft.

Michael,

You could check with Jim Read he has a several aircraft which could work. For the Korean era you could have his F4U-5N Corsair and T-28 Trojan. And for the Vietnam era is A-37 Dragonfly is perfect. He also has a DHC 1 Mk22 Chipmunk which might work for the british theme.

I'll have too see what happens but I'd like to make it. I hope I have no Doggy problems this year. I'm not sure that I can afford to save him twice. Once was painful enough.

I think the AD's are the real selling point for me. I've love to see a few AD-5 in the mix.

Me TO! Sick dog or Able Dogs? Tough Choice I wish I was at lemoore when they had the ADs :D I talked to this Cheif once and he said he had to go to 29 Palms and work on a AD in a underground hanger? He said that most of the Runway was in a mountain and they blindfolded him to get to the plane. I would thought he was B.S. me but he was not the type to B.S. He said there was a huge set of doors that would roll back. Have you heard that one?

Michael--

Rest assured you ARE on the right track...lasso yourself three or four Furies and a Firefly or two, plus maybe a Vampire and a Hunter, and you're there...marvelous to hear the Lanc will probably reappear at Yankee, to say nothing of the Swordfish and the Lysander. And I've always liked Skyraiders too. Have only ever seen four or five different ones fly. Would be very cool indeed to see that many at one event!

BTW have they untangled the Interstate out your way yet...?

That is new to me. I thought it was 29 stumps

Everyone was talking A-7s when I was at Lemoore. I always liked the AD-7 on a stick there.

For Korean era stuff, it would be great to see more jets. Based on my avatar, you can probably guess what my favorite aircraft was from the 2005 show!

Oddly enough, I have yet to see a T-33 in flight. I always thought of the T-33/P-80 as one of the most beautiful jets. Lockheed really had a way of designing some of the pretty aircraft...Constellation, Lightning, Shooting Star, etc. etc.

If nothing else, a return of the F-86 would be super.

Never seen a T-33 fly and you live in WI? Gotta tell you there's a place called Oshkosh somewhere down the road from you. I've been there four times in the 1990's and saw them fly on each trip..............

We hope to have 992 our Viet Nam vet UH1-H back up by this summer.
Mike, sounds like another stellar show. Keep up the good work!

Oshkosh is on my list of places to eventually visit. I tend to visit the warbird orientated shows, however. For 2005, my choice (considering my limited funds) was to either attend Oshkosh or to see 8 B-17s at Willow Run. The choice was pretty easy to make...

With the British themed warbirds at Thunder next year, I may once again pick a trip to Willow Run.

mjanovec,

Actually I have to agree with you on the choice. Even though I'm an EAA member, my choice has been to make the trip for the last three years (2006 will make four) to Thunder Over Michigan also, instead of Oshkosh by Gosh.

Myself and co show director Kevin Walsh have just returned from the ICAS convention today, and are very happy how things went. The show dates still stand at August 5th and 6th 2006. As I type this Kevin is working with the web master on getting the air show web site updated for next year. We will have a few minor changes to the show next year, but this will not change the large number of warbirds we will have. The show theme will still be WWII british aircraft with a little veitnam salute. The large type gathering part of our show will be two types of aircraft this year instead of the normal one type gathering, and will be-
AD Skyraiders 8
Spitfires 8
As allways we will continue to bring you the most unique air show in the world.
