Kermit has two Tempests. I think the Mk.II may be in store now, but I may be mistaken.

Thanks for sharing the pics, for a while I was very confused about which one it is!

Isn't Kermit's on loan to the Florida Air Museum on the Sun n Fun grounds at Lakeland? I remember they towed out on the warbird ramp the first year I went (~2005). Tried to post a photo but am in China now and Photobucket won't load. There is a current photo on Vagabond's excellent Air Museum Photo blast. It has the Centaurus but a 4-blade prop - looks just like an R-3350-powered Fury (except of course the prop turns "backwards").

Here is a link to Kermit talking with Tony Bianchi of "Personal Plane Services" as well as Ralph Hull.
Ralph rebuilt the wing for this Mk. V Tempest.

Chris (Garbs), Kermit had his aircraft that were at Lakeland brought back to Fantasy of Flight a couple years ago - the Tempest Mk.II, the P-63, and the Lysander are now in storage at FOF.

Ahh, Yes. After further review I see the date stamp on Vagabond's photos is 2009.

Thanks for the update, John - went past FOF in January but haven't actually stopped there in several years. Always loved the back room/warehouse tours!
