Thx kindly David for the clarification. The original source photo company perhaps needs a bit of work in the definitions. (as do I, but I'm still the 'student' around here)
Now this is a PBY-5A, how do I know this? I can read it on the tail lol.

Great pics, thanks as always for sharing! The target tug Ventura is a new one to me, striking scheme!

The 2nd to last B-25 looks like it might still have the applique armor installed on the cockpit side? Or is that some form of paint remnant/evidence from it's previous installation? Just curious. Still has the gun packs too...

cheers

greg v.

Yes, all the Canadian Reserve Squadrons had the armour on when they had the gun packs installed.

It is! Sadly that one didn't have a post-military career. It went to the USCG from the US Navy but its ultimate fate is obscure.

I have my wife's family visiting, so I couldn't throw my 2 cents worth in before now. With regard to the photo originally captioned T-6G: Not only did Canada not operate the T-6G, but this particular aircraft is one of many 'renovated' postwar, with the introduction of new radio and electrical components. These aircraft were then designated Mk 2A (NOT to be confused with the Mk IIA flown by the RAF, New Zealand and South Africa).

cheers
Doug

Sea Fury WG565 is a survivor as well, now in the Naval Museum in Alberta.

Most interesting thread. On September 14, 1978 I attended the Ray Bell Auction in Corbourg Ontario and purchased 3 Seafire engine bearers. Info off of data tags on them showed WS909, PR458 and PR498 which corresponds to 3 Seafire photos in this thread. I stored them - not having any particular use for them - until put up for auction on eBay. I sold them to a gent in Great Britain on July 19, 2010.
The buyer had other items to ship to England and I crated and finally agreed to deliver the bearers to an outfit in Vienna Virginia during June 2011 for eventual shipment to an east coast port.
Now I can attach 3 pertinent photos to sort of complete the story (for me at least). I always enjoy photos from our friends up north... :D
