Thanks for the photos! Re: the Shturmovik..I assume the rear fuselage and outer wings are wood, and being built up from scratch?

Yes, the rear fuselage and the wooden portions of the wings are new build. The original wood did not survive the plane's 60 years in a lake.

It does tend to get a bit soggy like that.

Great work all around guys..the Pima restoration dept. is fantastic! We're hoping to make a visit to the museum in 2018..only been there once before, in 2004.

I'm excited to see it.
Every January I go to the Scottsdale collector car auctions for work and make a side trip to Pima.
Last year, I sat in the restaurant and enjoyed a burger surrounded by all the great planes....my only complaint is I couldn't see the C-124 from where I was sitting.

Just as an aside, they do make a darn good burger. I've stopped just for lunch when work took me to Tucson
