For a cost, yes.

The BHAF said they needed $300k for the engine on the C-97. See here..

I mentioned these engines to the BHAF when they first asked if anyone had any leads on a replacement. Apparently, the ones at Valle are basically junk. Sure, like anything you could restore them to running condition, but you could probably find much better candidates that could be restored for less money.

Is the "Angel of Deliverance" parked inside or outside while waiting for an engine?

I believe it is parked outside in Reading, near the MAAM. You can see it on Google earth, parked with the museums static collection in front of the hangars.

Besides the two B-29s,are there any other four engine radial planes that will fly during the upcoming airshow season?

just a number of B-17s, at least one B-24, and on this side of the Atlantic, a Lancaster. Other than that, nothing special......( I know the Lanc has V-12s, but it does have 4 of them)

Maybe everyone should donate to this outfit. They also have a C-54 they have been working on, and it could be flying to airshows, the gas is going to cost a bunch.

What does POF stand for?

Since these sort of places are on the way out because of covid, here is a great supply of C-97 engines.

You could swap them a blown one for an okay one. For a static never running display they don't need no stinking good engine on it.

POF = Planes of Fame museum, with their main museum site (and their B-50 forward fuselage) at Chino, CA. Other location in Arizona with the KC-97 wing, engines and other parts.
