Thanks! A friend who works the show estimated that 90% of the active Warbirds in Australia were in attendance. More to come when I get some time.

OK, so both the Friday and Saturday shows started off with the RAAF Roulettes - last outing before they retire their PC-9's:





Then the primary trainers flew:







On Saturday, the Menasco in the ST-M started running rough after take off so the pilot set it down safely at one of the small, outlying strips.

Next was a heritage flight - Friday show included two RAAF F/A-18's (see Errol's shot - better lighting than any of mine).

With every group, they came over in the full formation, then broke into smaller groups:



And finally at least one of each type got to beat up the flight line:









As you can see, the crowd sits on the east side of the show line, so the sun sets behind the planes.

On Friday, the 2 x P-40 and 2 x P-51's did a dog bone tail chase:



Saturday, they left out the F/A-18's and put up 4 Fighters:



Later in the show, they did a 6 x V-12 group who put on a very exciting, close in chase:







Photos don't do it justice at all (maybe Errol has better), but they did a zoom climb at each end with wings vertical in the reversals.

Got enough to keep this thread on page 1 for a few more weeks...

Yep, lighting was a challenge, went with B&W on a couple of these as there was stuff all colour in them

You definitely have a better eye than me, Errol. I have the same "problem" with Blackbirdfan at OSH and RNO. By the way, Will; am I missing your Reno album or are you otherwise occupied?

Some of the bigger iron at Warbirds Down Under:

HARS brought several larger aircraft from Illawarra, including this DHC-4 Caribou:





Some owners had been doing the "Wheelbarrow" maneuver where they roll just the nosewheel down the runway. Apparently DeHavilland Canada called everyone up and said, "stop doing that!".

They also brought a PBY-6A painted like the RAAF Black Cats which were pure flying boats:







Unfortunately, their Lockheed Connie was unable to attend. It was supposed to do a twilight take off on Friday night.

The RAAF sent one of their new E-7A "Wedgetail" AEW craft. Being Aussies, they opted for a surfboard instead of the usual USN Frisbees;

Very cool pictures. I'd say you both have "good eyes". I didn't even notice the Roulettes were flying PC-9's,
I just assumed they were Texans. Did the caribou do their wheelbarrow act?. That is still one of my favorite transports.

Regarding your question, Arn, it seems that DeHavilland Canada has “strongly suggested” that Caribou operators stop doing the wheelbarrow maneuver. Too much stress on the airframe. Sorry for the delay
