I remember a model I had as kid that had a wing gun.It was yellow so it was was probably Navy.

They generally had various armament configurations...most common was a synchronized gun in the right cowl, a .30 in the right wing and many had a flexible gun in the back seat. Plus some had provision for carrying small bombs.

T-6Gs could have gun pods, rockets or bombs.

Certainly post-WW2 they were used as counterinsurgency aircraft with machine guns, bombs and/or rockets.
