I received a copy today - I used to get Warbirds International, but they have basically combined the two for the near future. Works for me, I guess.

Which is to say that this is going back to something as it was in the 1970s. This makes sense as there may well be insufficient market for two more-or-less independent magazines on essentially the same general topic.

I just hope that the quality of writing and research are now better than what these were when I quit buying these mags, in the 1980s. (I still miss Airpower, but it may be that there is insufficient market for better writing)

As much as I appreciate the AC format where they honor individual pilots or certain units, I hope they keep the WI focus on histories and restorations of aircraft now on the Warbird circuit. Just my 2 cents.

My January issue arrived this afternoon, Jan 28. I'm at the end of the pipeline...

The pipeline flow has reversed. I received my February issue this afternoon, 4 days after the January issue. I have a lot of reading to take care of.

FYI, email from last Thursday.

Due to the strains of the last year imposed by the pandemic, Challenge must temporarily suspend magazine operations for up to 90 days. This is necessary to solve the problems we have experienced in the supply chain/production/retail sales. As I am sure you have notices, when we reopened in January 2021 our products has been greatly improved. We will continue this improvement. While we are allowing for a 90 day hiatus for regrouping, we hope to be back much sooner.

As before, your subscriptions to AIR CLASSICS and SEA CLASSICS will be extended for any issues that go unpublished.

During this temporary suspension, our corporate line is still operational. Should you wish to cancel your subscription during this unforseen delay, please call 818-700-6868 and we will be happy to assist you.

We realize that you have been very patient up to this point and we can only ask that you extend that patience for a while longer to give Challenge this urgently needed space to rebuild.

Sincerely,

Michael O'Leary
Publisher

I certainly wish them the best.
The magazines have done a lot for the American warbird movement.

Nothing received here in the UK since publication re-started in January. Frustrating for contributors!

Received the Jan, Feb and Mar issue.
It's the best to wait what happens.
In between I prepare some stories on the B-25 for publication in AC.
