Don't know if you realize this, but you aren't far from a long-term P-47B project. Randy Ferris is slowly piecing together the remains of the beast somewhere around Marengo, IL. I feel a little stupid because I accidentally dumped some photos of the project that Steve Dennis sent me. I'm sure Steve could help you get in touch with Randy if you wanted. Coincidentally, I believe Randy's Jug and Lex Cralley's Corsair remains came out of the same swamp.

I'll get a hold of Steve. We have a common love of PT-19's and have talked often. I'd love to see Randy's project. My Dad was a 47 Jock with the 60th FS in CBI 43-45. It was his all time favorite even though he flew alot in 38's. Over half of his 110 missions were in the P-47, the balance in P-38's.
Before he died and Champlin still had their collection, we got to spend some up close time with their razorback out on the ramp during run up tests. Pretty cool stuff!
