A question...feel free to educate me....
Most general aviation aircraft do not have passenger shoulder harnesses. At least they are not in typical GA types.

Somehow I don't think the FAA could mandate them with a term/description as imprecise as "warbird".
So, do they mandate them in acrobatic capable types?
I would assume the T-28 is approved for aerobatics.

I would think like seatbelts, their condition would have to be inspected during annual.
I don't think they have a stated life span/expiration date like belts and harnesses in race cars.

And if they are required, would they have to be fitted with the locks previously mentioned or just simple cinch-type straps?

In other words, comparing mil-spec systems maintained by life support specialists and the equipment found in a 60 year old trainer may not be accurate.

Any experts out there?

The entire seat belt subject is interesting.
In doing some shopping in the Wag-Aero catalog recently*, I learned if you put them in a certified type, they must be approved. Experimental types don't need the approval certification (and you save some money).

*I purchased a new set of old military style "latch and hook" belts to install in my restored 1950s USAF M38A1 Jeep...on the assumption if a Air Force Jeep had belts back then, they would have been procured from base supply. Remember, that was before modern belts were fitted and required and they would not have been common at local auto parts stores in small towns.

When I did my incentive ride in the F-15D I was informed to lock it during take off and during final, otherwise I could unlock it. I know the military world and civilian world are different entities, but I would assume or think that some safety things would be the same across the board.

That's not a checklist item in either of the jets I flew in the AF, just for reference points.
