Also remember that Dan has a pretty well known production company and also is part of the Flying Horsemen demo team that has a 4-ship Mustang routine. The movement of additional P-51s to Europe, especially to Salzburg, could be for either or both of those reasons.

Will be interesting to see what happens. I don't see the Friedkin's selling anything anytime soon.

The Horsemen (no 'Flying') are a 3-ship team (occasionally flying with 2 due to pilot availability)

Dan has sold a number of aircraft, including a P-51D (IIRC), Hurricane, P-47 'Snafu' and P-38 'Thoughts of Midnite' in recent years

Mike, thanks for the intel. Do you know where the P-47 & the P-38 went?

The 47 and 38 went to Charles Somers in Sacramento.

Thanks for the intel Mike and the correction on the team name. I keep getting it wrong despite seeing their page semi-frequently. You're correct the normal setup is a 3-ship or 2-ship, but they've done 4-ship routines and were 4-ship when originally founded (part of the name's origin). There's been several pilots, including Steve Hinton, who've flown the 4th ship (although I believe that Steve is still the lead pilot for the F-86 act).

I would be interested in their Grumman F3F if it were available. We would fly it alongside my FM-2.

I wish you a lot of luck with that. It seems the F3Fs don't fly much.
I'd like to see one airborne.
