That's affirmative! Buddy of mine who volunteers as a guide there (and gave me the heads-up on the C-47 flying in) said they pulled the wings off just outboard of the engines and slid it into the museum a few weeks ago.

I think it's hanging up now.

Hanging is confirmed, dad has been talking with the museum and it is now infact hanging. He is supposed to be sent pics, he will send me a couple.

I'm personally hoping to 'liberate' the Spitfire hanging in the museum next time we get a Katrina....

In all seriousness, anybody know if that is a real one or just another fiberglass model? I could have sworn I saw oil under the cowling last time I was there.

I believe the Spit at the D-Day Museum is a real Spitfire. It may be a composite airframe, but the majority and the data plate are from one that I think was recovered from France and actually flew on D-Day.
Anybody out there have more or correcting info?
