Before landing at MAF, be sure to circle over Austin Acres to pay homage to the Stratolina!

Gary,
If we don't do it on the way in, I'll try to get her by on one of the ride hops! Which way are you from MAF? I'd love to see the Stratolina from the air. Any progress on T-shirts?

About 5 miles or so SSW of downtown Midland, about a mile South of I-20. I don't know if this link will help or not, but here it is anyway. The property oughta be a little easier to spot now, with the Stratolina sitting in the front yard (although not pictured here)........

Only thing is that it's not going to look as big from your 1,000" altitude as it does in our pictures...

That's what good lenses are for.
It's fairly easy to spot - once you know what you're looking for and where to look. I'll have to admit that I get more practice doing that than most, though, now.
You have to learn to pick out the tree from the forest and recognize little details like the way a road turns and intersects with other roads.

The Local CAP should use that as practice for the new kids, send em on a search grid and see how long it takes them to find it!

Well, its time. I got the fabric repaired today and all of the paperwork is done. We'll have to see how the weather is in the morning, but the Yellow Rose is ready to fly!
PIC Al Maxwell wants to do it early and has called for a takeoff around 0830. Not long after that I'll know if I'm going to have a GREAT day or a lousy one.
Thanks in advance for all the crossed fingers and good wishes! I'll post an update as soon as I debrief the crew on their return.

Good grief Gary.., put a ROBE ON!!!!!!! Now I know what 'Stratolina' is short for.., and speaking of short!
I even see 'Crop Circles' on your land!!
Also., that is quite a path you have beaten from your back door out to your PBY..., lots of late night trips scratching your head and saying 'what in the heck am I doing here'?

That is mine, right on the corner, with the swimming pool, no room for a stratolina, but there is a Soneria fuselage in the backyard.
