This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

What the heck is this thing? Anymore photos? Guy needs a little radial for that mini Corsair!
I'm guessing it's a WAR Corsair, and man did it have me for a moment! What a little beauty.

That miniature/replica Corsair is actually not one of the W.A.R. examples, but is a one-off that began as a set of ideas to improve the W.A.R. replica. The project designer/owner/operator, Dennis Robinson, speaks a bit about the origin of the homebuilt here (scroll down):

Thanks John, that's really interesting. I daresay they succeeded - even with that engine, I really thought it was a restoration for a moment. Thanks for the link and photo. It's great to see folks able and willing to address some of the shortcomings of the WAR birds. I like it too!

The Doolittle Raid Reenactment was breathtaking. 10 B-25's were staged on the concrete to mimic the 16 that flew off the deck of the USS Hornet CV-8. They then taxi'd onto the runway and took off for some choreographed flying and mock bombing.
I filmed these videos from the top of the bleachers and it was down right SCARY with the propwash from those B-25's! Garbs, where were you shooting from BTW?

Going to have to go soon, SE MI not all that far away.
One question, if anyone can summarize - How did O get so huge in the world of airshows ?

What are the V-shaped (victory?) markings under the cockpit of Pecos Bill?
