I also got The Few. My wife was amused since she thinks I am unable to read.

Got a metal buy war bonds sign with a pilot sitting in the cockpit.

My brother in law got himself a surprise gift. He lives in Seattle and was browsing the used bookstores (loves to do that) with his Christmas money. Anyway he found a hardback copy of Pappy Boyington's book Baa baa Blacksheep. He had never seen a hardback copy so he picked it up and flipped through the pages - it was a book club edition and that interested him. The price was right -$4.00 - so he bought it. Back in the car he noticed two pages stuck together - turns out he bought a personally signed copy of the book with a "publicity photo" to boot!

SWEET!!

I did get a WARBIRDS calender from Paul Bowen, with some of the best photos around.

Sounds like Santa had you and I on the same list for the Paul Bowen calendar! Great pics... already have it up in my office at work!

I always get a bunch of books... one is the IMAGES OF AMERICA - CLEVELANDS NAITONAL AIR RACES, 1000 PRESERVED AIRCRAFT IN COLOUR (must be a author from the UK with color spelled like that!) and my favortie gift book - THE AMERICAN AIRCRAFT FACTORY IN WORLD WAR II. Great book just jammed with amazing factory assembly lines. Even some color shots! Oh... and a die cast Hurricane in Bader's markings!

Also got a cool painting... vintage aircraft at the Burbank Air Terminal!

Now I will find out how Gary got on Santas list for a helmet!! Gary... I have been wanting one of those! Just need something to fly where I would need it. Might look alittle silly flying the 170 with a helmet like that!

I think this place might have something like that: http://www.historicaviation.com/historicaviation/index.po
I got a catalog a while back. Many, many cool warbird models and other stuff.

Hey Robbie,

I'm so jealous, I've been wishing for the Band of Brothers Box set for so long. Still nothing.... but my birthday is coming up in February. My fingers are crossed.

The Band of Brothers is a truly amazing set of episodes. In my opinion it is the most accurate military "film" made so far. It really seems to illustrate the brutal realities of war as well as the amazing friendships that were formed.

my two cents,

David

Santa brought a new combination sheet metal machine! A shear, a slip roll, and a pan brake. Now if I could just get home to play with it!

Happy New Year, everyone.

got me a one-year subscription to Classic Wings from my girlfriend; I wonder how she figured that one out?...

I bought myself the BOB tin-box set a year or two ago, and have never regretted it one bit; if no-one bought it for you then I highly suggest getting it for yourself!

cheers & happy new year!
