How cool!
Years and years ago I remember doing a profile line drawing of what would've been a prime contender for Ollie's Reno H Division. No idea what became of the drawing (but I never throw anything away, so it's around somewhere!)...I remember it very well though. It was a Lancaster X, but:
*four Griffon 57s (Shack engines) spinning 8-bladed contraprops (Gannet)
*clipped wings with endplates (a la F2G #94)
*enlarged fins with squared trailing edges
*a large ventral fin fillet partially enclosing the tailwheel
*streamlined bullet nose (a la Lancastrian)
*tiny F1-style bubble canopy (a la Signal Sea Fury/Miss Merced)
*name "Victory" in Old English script on the nose
*sponsorship by Red Rose Tea
*race number 104 (since she was based on the then Toronto pylon one)
Cheers
