The brake lines?! Pssh, do you think I am some kind of amateur? I'd come up with something better than that! :nuker: After all, if I got caught I wouldn't be able to enjoy my new print!

Thanks Steph, that makes feel alot better!

Very modest in comparison to others, but some "crude" photos from my collection in my Computer Room...

Very cool man. Like I said, my neighbor is a veteran of VMB-413, so I am a huge fan of the PBJ. I have that diecast model as well. Do you guys sell those at your gift shop or anything? That might be a good idea for you.

Our Museum has numerous models of various aircraft, but lack any B-25s. Perhaps as our PBJ becomes closer to being airworthy, that may change.

The ONLY thing missing (Off the back of Mr. Haney's truck...) is a genu-wine Red-tagged B17 wheel with a used tire (Honey, What IS that smell? asks the little lady  )

And we're just the group to fix you right up there!

B-17 stuff is my favorite!

My wife is too decorativly controlling to let me hang pictures anywhere but the garage

Yeah, I wish. The museum is pretty tight on letting anything go, and to be honest, rightly so.

Hey Tom,

In all my conversations with various VMB vets, I have never once heard them refer to their PBJs as having a "Jimmy Durante" nose. You popped a good one there.

Actually, VMB-611's PBJ-1Ds had their APS-3 radar mounted above the Bombardier's position and was refered commonly as "Hose Nose." Their PBJ-1Js had the APS-3 radar mounted on the tip of the right wing. Several related that the radar was seldom used to search out targets, but was most commonly used to navigate through bad weather.

The below image shows what happened when the Navigator-Bombardier's Hose Nose of MB 4 sneezed too hard on one mission (ha-ha-ha).

as jimmy durante would say...... i've got a million of em!! seriously though, that's a great pic. from that angle perpective i'd say that the pilot & co- pilot had some visibility trouble with that bulbous protusion whether on the ground, or airborne.

Anybody know where the "Plan Position Indicators" were located on these RADAR equiped Mitchells and who operated them?

I did a quick tour through the NMUSAF a few weeks ago while on my two week road trip. I went in incognito so they didn't pat me down or make me step on a scale before I left.

That's a pretty complicated way of saying "where was the radar scope?"
