Great pics!

Fascinating to see the Ju-88 with the spraylat still on it. I knew that it was stored at DM for awhile, but had always wondered if it was flown or trucked to Wright-Pat. I guess that answers the question. She certainly looks better now..I have to applaud the NMUSAF for repainting her in her original Romanian markings, rather than a more recognizable Luftwaffe scheme.

Eric

If you are still about, can you read any serial on the Lancaster (s) on the original print?

After checking Appendix Five of Scott Thompson's great book: "Final Cut: Revised and Updated Edition", I discovered that only one B-17 had an "N" number that ended in '78G' and that was N3678G, 44-8990. If you look closely at the posted photo, there is a bright spot over part of the 6 that makes it look like a 3 or 5.

No bright spot in this shot, she incorrectly wore N3578G for some time judging by photos of her floating around on the world wide interweb. P-63E 43-11728 is at Pima. Do not know the date of the bulk of the photos but the F-105 was lost 1962 03 16, if that helps anyone. Great stuff, thanks for posting.
