I didn't realize there were so many P-40's still flying. Gerry brought the P51A out to Gathering of Eagles just east of Cleveland. Geneseo isn't that much farther (it was the same weekend this year, unfortunately!)

I believe "Allision Wonderland" sounds too perfect! Though I'm not the one payin the bills up at Geneso so.

I wonder if next year could be like the shows of the late 80's early 90's?

Doubt it though. If the 1941HAG was gonna book all these Allison powered birds, then I bet they wont have enough funds to bring in 5 B-17's, 1 B-24, and the Lanc. Unless some big fundraising drive was set?

Re "Allison Wonderland", thank whomever wrote that caption in Classic Wings a few issues ago! (It was, BTW, the header for a photo of Kermit Weeks' stunning cache of stored V1710s in Florida.)

As to a Gennie matching those of the late eighties...the first of those was a week and a half ago! I sure remember the heavy-bomber seven-plane formation you refer to. That was 1991. Martial band version of "Amazing Grace" on the PA; "stinger" formation of five Forts in vic with Lib and Lanc in trail. Twenty Wright 1820s, four P&W 1830s and four Packard Merlins in chorus. Four more Merlins high above on the quartet of P-51s flying top cover. Just thinking about it chokes me up a bit, sixteen years later. Still one of my truly unforgettable half-dozen or so airshow memories...

Exactly, I wonder if what you JUST Described, can happen again. Maybe even bigger!

9 B-17's baby!

Well, let's have the fighters first of course since that theme appears already in the planning stages...plus, wouldn't you want to wait till Texas Raiders is in the air again? Ten Forts baby, not nine! And two Libs, too. And the Lanc, sure, even if only flying over.

Oh, and wait a bit longer and you could toss in two B-29s...

Seriously, I simply can't wait for "Allison Wonderland" or whatever HAG choose to call their '08 Hawk-centric edition. From so many perspectives, it's perfect.

Speaking as an Ontarian...what a couple years it's been! :D

To quote F1's Murray Walker, "Excuse me while I interrupt myself"...or in this case correct myself:

It's eleven Forts, not nine or ten, once Texas Raiders is up again...

Sentimental Journey
Nine-O-Nine
Memphis Belle
Liberty Belle
Yankee Lady
Aluminum Overcast
Chuckie
Fuddy Duddy
Thunder Bird
Miss Angela
Texas Raiders

Add Libs Old 927 and Witchcraft and the Mynarski Lanc, and...whew.

2010, maybe??

Maybe! I just hope, at least for next year they can get a substantial amount of those fighters in!
