Be careful, Aircrane may tell you to haul the lot off..they're tired of paying rent on 'em.
Tho...Free luxury living accomodations on "lakefront property" for all volunteers, has a
nice ring to it! 8)

Can't agree with you more on the AirTruck. The flying pick-up truck!:D

I'd say go for it Gary! That thing is the ultimate garden shed/caravan :D Imagine having one of those in the backyard completely pimped out inside with TV, fridge,... Who needs a vacation?

Here's another army helicopter of the era; this is a medevac H-34 at Fort Benning, Georgia in the early 1960's, call sign "Flatiron". My father spent a lot of time flying this helicopter:

Andy, those are great old photos. I was at Benning back in 1974, and the Med company then was the 498th, they used Hueys then. When I came back to Benning in 1990, the Huey had been phased out with the UH-60 Blackhawk, and the company was still the 498th, until they Deployed to the war. FlatIron call-sign the last I heard was used by the guys and gals that flew evac missions in the Fort Rucker Training areas. The hanger in the background, is still there.
