Scott,

I mistakenly typed in Tulsa when I should have entered Oklahoma City!!!

The source that I used, Gradidge's book is correct!

I have corrected my original post.

Thanks for that correction Dave. It looks like a great painting regardless. Keep up the good work!

Maybe I missed it - will this airplane be restored to represent a 401st BG airplane or is the painting just for atmosphere?

My wife's step-grandfather was aircraft commander of "H@ll's Angel Out of Chute 13" in the 401st. I believe he had around 18 missions completed when the war ended. For a birthday surprise this year, my wife had him sign a copy of Bert Stiles' "Serenade to the Big Bird" for me. What an honor.

We see them every Christmas and, although I get him to tell some B-17 stories, he's always more interested in hearing what flying is like today. Soooo - our next visit is just around the bend. Might have to drag him back to the office to see these photos on WIX ....

Ken

The dome didn't protrude past the propeller hubs. I'll try to get a copy of that picture.

Is this the nose dome on the warbirdregistry page?
