That seems odd... why would the Navy strike the aircraft from its' records completely, only to reinstate it a month later? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Probably struck-off, as not economic to repair...normally. But in the early part of the 'US war', replacement supply,
became desperate. Faced with having nothing, I'll wager a more discerning eye was cast over the boneyard
birds. Use what you have or lose your life is a powerful motivator. :wink: Just a guess tho.
