It would be nice if someone occasionally posted a reply.
If you don't post, then all these rare old color pics, (that I spent so many hours on hand-coloring), just go off onto page 250- and no one else gets to see or download them.
There are nearly 500 hits on this last pic alone-and no acknowledgment at all. So please, just reply once in a while- so that others can see and have them too. Thanks.

That last pic I can't help but make a connection with the Skyraider the way the cowl scoop looks.

I see your grandfather was in the 9th AF. So was a dear friend. Lt. R.H. Shreve flew F-5's (P-38 photo recon) over occupied France (including some of the low level shots for the-D-Day Invasion) and over Germany from 1943-45. He later retired as a Delta pilot. He was truly a great and humble man.

Definitely A+ in my book. Those low level missions over the beaches must have been hair raising (for the pilots and the Germans on the beach running for their lives)!
