This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Good point, Gary. I guess I didn't consider that option.

So Rich, how many parts off of that Shack engine will be interchangeable with the current engine on Jim's Spit?

I thought so myself, but as it turns out, the more you abuse 'em, the more they rattle........kinda like a Merlin engine.

Haven't seen a single one. (Knock on wood) But frankly, the only one I've actually seen here on my property was in a roadrunner's mouth. The rattlers were all over the airport property, but not here. Those roadrunners are good to have around!

I don't know about a roadrunner (does Mopar count?), but if parking a Super Cat or a Kingfisher in my backyard would keep the copperheads out of my basement, I could bring myself to do it....

Hmmm, never really thought about it that way. Maybe it's the PBY and the Stratolina parked in the front yard that is keeping the snakes away. It doesn't seem to affect the yellow jackets, but the snakes are keeping their distance.
