Second, just because this engine had the contra rotating crankshafts, it doesn't mean that other components of the engine won't be used to help keep flying airplanes flying, now does it? ;-)

Good point, Gary. I guess I didn't consider that option.

So Rich, how many parts off of that Shack engine will be interchangeable with the current engine on Jim's Spit?

What makes you think this is for the Spit?

Gary did you put the knuckleheads that drove around your place in the box with the rattlesnakes?

I thought so myself, but as it turns out, the more you abuse 'em, the more they rattle........kinda like a Merlin engine. :hide:

They were going to end up in my moat, but we worked it out before I had to polute the moat with the scum.

Haven't seen a single one. (Knock on wood) But frankly, the only one I've actually seen here on my property was in a roadrunner's mouth. The rattlers were all over the airport property, but not here. Those roadrunners are good to have around!

I don't know about a roadrunner (does Mopar count?), but if parking a Super Cat or a Kingfisher in my backyard would keep the copperheads out of my basement, I could bring myself to do it.... :D

Hmmm, never really thought about it that way. Maybe it's the PBY and the Stratolina parked in the front yard that is keeping the snakes away. It doesn't seem to affect the yellow jackets, but the snakes are keeping their distance.
