If this bill passes, it will have devastating and catastrophic consequences which will eliminate all flight training in California as we know it. As an example, let's say that you are a CFI, and you own an airplane - any airplane - let's say a T-6. You take a student pilot up for a ride. That other person logs the T-6 time, since it is "legal" for them to do so because you have a CFI. If you are not registered with the state of California and paid your minimum of $ 6,000 fees plus a cut of your profits, and have all of the legal paperwork, you will be non-compliant with this law. If you are non-compliant, the state of California can fine you $50,000!

Yes, that's right, you will pay $50,000 to California for letting somebody else log time in your aircraft, because you refused to pay the state $6,000 +.


I'm so glad I don't live in California any more!
