Randy,
I got a text from one of Rod's mechanics confirming it was NOT an accident, but a staged deal.

LOL, as they say, don't believe everything you read in texts.

I don't see scarring of the pavement, dust on the cowling or any tire skid marks.
I have seen Lyle belly in a Bearcat and watched Steve Hinton's Super 8 movie of Whittington do the same along with some other nose over incidents.
This type of incident should leave a mark on the ground and dust on the paint.
The damage to the prop also actually seems more severe than a nose over IMO.

Do I see guys in period-ish clothing in the pics? More than just a pilot, which may lend credence to the 'staged' story. Or not.

I think every time I've towed a plane there have been tire marks on the ground even when towing straight. Those don't look like "skid" marks. Also, as hard as I looked, I don't see any chunk marks in the ground from a prop chewing up the pavement. I'm going with staged.

Yeah but you know, those sequals never hold up to the originals.

No. I think it's legitimately for some film event.

In this case, the prequel won't hold up to the sequel!

I feel like this is WiX NCIS... I thought the Col. was bad with conspiracy theories...

I don't know which I find more upsetting: seeing a Bearcat on its nose or finding out they are making another air racing movie.
