In general this subject is somewhat tiresome. If you don't like a paint scheme on a particular aircraft the offer to pay for a repaint on the aircraft and make sure you research your position. Short of that, or buying the aircraft outright you don't have many options.
Owners will do what they will with THEIR aircraft.
And besides, if you want authentic paint schemes, shouldn't they use crappy paint that flakes off? I don't know about you but the majority of the pictures I've seen of aircraft in service show the paint scheme in less than pristine shape. Personally I would love to see a "rat rod" looking Mustang that had the appearance of flying 15 mission on its scheme, but that's me
