This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Worked with Gary quite a bit on the "re-do" of the B-24, doing quite a bit of cockpit cleaning and masking before painting, and sanding the exterior/painting prep. Didn't matter where he was, or what he was doing, if I ran across something "not quite right", he was there in a heartbeat to check it out. Always marvelled at the reconfigurations he came up with to return it to its original state - the tail gun position was a work of art! Remember coming across some B-24 bomb shackles on eBay - when I emailed Gary about 'em, he had them purchased before I could even get a bid in!

I want to put together a memorial page for Gary. If you have pictures of him, send them in and try and explain when, where and what the picture is about. If you have stories and/or anecdotes involving Gary send them in too. You can send it all to
editor

warbirdsresourcegroup
Replace the

with @ and tag a .org on the end and you'll have the address (blame the @#$%@#$% spammers)

Just want to add my bit:
This man was an inspiration to many. And a person of seemingly endless humbleness. Gary, you are missed terribly here. I will always remember the day. I'm glad to have at least known of your existence. And while I never had an impact on your life, you had an impact on mine.

Wish I had taken a photo when Gary stopped in at Wendover, Utah on his way to Reno. . .
He was a real inspiration

A memorial page is a great idea. Perhaps the B-24 restoration story could have a link within the page. Just a thought...
