Air Combat Command Aerial Events has posted an update to their Facebook page
here. For those who are not on Facebook, here is the update:
Over the past few weeks, many of you have called or emailed asking what we're doing now that the majority of our workload has been put on hold. As of last week, our F-22 Demo and Heritage Flight teams have all resumed their regular duties within their squadrons. However, despite all the rumors you may have heard, we're still holding out hope that some or all of our F-22 or HF teams will be reinstated at some poi...nt before the end of the year. Unfortunately, I have a better shot at winning my March Madness pool than saying whether or not a decision to the pending Continuing Resolution will affect what we do.
So for now, until our teams are reinstated, we'll continue to do what we can to support the Air Show industry. For example, we're currently working with the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation (AFHFF) on a plan that will allow the AFHFF to continue supporting the USAF Heritage Flight Program on behalf of the USAF. Although these HF's will only involve civilian warbirds, they will continue to celebrate and honor the sacrifice of those currently serving, as well as the sacrifices of war of the past. ACC's Aerial Events office will continue to provide program oversight, schedule events, and coordinate support requirements.
I'll continue to keep you posted with updates as they come in. As I mentioned as few weeks ago, please don't let the lack of military support sway your decision to attend your local airshow. There are many great civilian perfomers that put on an equally spectacular show as our F-22 Demo Team! They, and the airshows they support, need your attendance this year more than ever.Anthony
