A book I read earlier this year....

Japanese Destroyer Captain

This was an interesting look at the Pacific War through the eyes of a Japanese Destroyer Captain. While not strictly aviation related it did provide an fascinating perspective of the conflict including being on the receiving end of aerial attack.

Best read I have found on the Pacific War, and grand strategy of the Second World War is by Ian Toll.

It is a three book series, with only one and two out so far. An unbelievably insightful erase arch of the time. Easily puts every other similar book on the subject in a different light.

Pacific Crucible, and the Conquering Tide. Both must haves to understand the Pacific War from a new perspective.
