Got to see this bird along with the other birds in the tour at Glendale Airport in Glendale, AZ yesterday. Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. Planned to go back today and watch them depart but that plan got foiled. It is just as beautiful as the pictures would lead you to believe, inside and out. I would have left the mouth off of it but I understand that this is a working bird and you gotta do whatever you can to sell rides.
Anybody know why the TP-40N is listed as 42-104721 in the FAA registration database, and the manufacturer is listed as Curtiss/Whittington Bros? Geoff Goodall says it is 42-9749 and doesn't mention any Whittington connection. He does say that the reg was changed at the owner's request.
It's kind of interesting that the registration is N293FR, but the ADS-B is reporting N440CF. Presumably they are going to change the number. Collings has that number reserved.
