Uh, Steve, I think you dropped something...

(How did they get the Air Force to let them do this? )

Good question Chris!

Here is my abbreviated accompanying text from another forum where I posted this same picture recently:

"...thought I'd mention episode #19 of Steve Canyon, "Operation Nose Wheel" which is one of my favorite episodes! Early drafts of this script were titled "Operation Ejection"...FYI this episode is in our new COMPLETE STEVE CANYON ON TV VOL 2 DVD.

Anyway, I'm curious of the history of this plane TR567 (70567) and the "lost wheel" issue. Col. Barney Oldfield complained to Producer David Haft (in a letter we have) that Haft "had caused $20,000 worth of damage to a T-33 during filming" of the series and I'v wondered if it was this episode (the only one featuring a T-33) or if it involved using a T-33 as a camera plane (with cameraman in the back). They also used the TF-102A's extra seat for cameramen during the series. So if anyone has any relevant info...

In any event thought you guys might enjoy seeing this frame from the episode. Keep 'em flyin'..."

Finally found my way back here…years have passed, but just posting that THE COMPLETE STEVE CANYON ON TV dvd collection is finally out and actually complete now (Volume 3 finally out, though still struggling to mail out the remaining pre-orders…hard to do with no money, but still mailing a few each week). Thanks again for all the support and kind words here :)

Unsolicited endorsement....
If you have any interest at all in the USAF of the 50s, give the series a try.
Lots of airplanes, and good stories. The cost is very reasonable and Mr. Ellis provides good customer service.

I bought an extra set for my older brother who watched the series as a child and he loved it.

Seconds on the unsolicited endorsement. :supz:
For those of us that enjoy photos of old military aircraft, these videos are one step better. Back to the simple days when a good story can be told and lessons learned combined with some awesome vintage military aircraft.
Add to the excellent work that Mr. Ellis has done to them and you have living history in your hands (and on the screen) that little can compare to. Highly recommended! :drink3:

Warning, you will spend more time than you wish in front of the TV when you get it. Order a complete set, you'll be very happy with it! :drink3:

I spent many enjoyable hours watching the DVDs and once in a while go back and watch favorite episodes. Thanks for your effort in getting them out on DVD John!

John,

What is the preferred way to purchase this? A few years back I bought a season for my father and proceeded to get a call that said my credit card information had been stolen and charges had been rung up - the only use I had on it was that purchase.

Thanks for asking! You can order via amazon.com or ebay…or through our website (see link below in my signature) with confidence.

As far as I know out of thousands of orders we've never had any security issues with credit card purchasers (which goes through Paypal). Feel free to PM me if you want to mail payment of figure something out with me.

Did you receive the DVD you originally ordered? I can't look in our records concerning you if I don't know your name or address (which you can email me or send in PM. Sorry for any trouble you had.

Yes, I did end up receiving it - it was a while ago and I think through the site. Just has made me gunshy since.

I guarantee that your issue had nothing to do with us, and likely culprit was malware you unknowingly downloaded to your computer that caused the problem. Bad people out there, unfortunately.

I recommend that if you want any/all of the other DVDs, order through Amazon.com for their buyer protection and your peace of mind.
