Actor's airplanes

Here's an actor most of you will never have heard of, becasue he's a Kiwi.

New Zealand actor and current affairs presenter Paul Holmes (he was in Lord of the Rings!) had a beautiful red Stearman, and flew it into a fence. He got it fixed and eleven months later flew it into a fence even harder. Twit!!

Yes he may have flown the Mustang, but he never flew his Sptfire. That was left for me grampa to do. If articles say otherwise, it was probably for a publicity stunt.

How is your grandfather these days? My dad used to maintain Sabres at Chatham, NB when he was there and flew with him once in a T-bird. Years and years and years ago he let me sit in the Spit when it was in a hangar at CFB Winnipeg. What a thrill for a ten year old kid.

BTW: It's a Bell 407, I spoke with one of the factory instructors who does Ford's recurrency training.

BTWII: Travolta does his recurring training at the AA Simulator Center in Ft. Worth....they told me they have the last 707 sim.

Here is a funny story although not exactly related.

I was sitting in the lobby at a local International airports general aviation terminal this afternoon and we looked towards the doorway. In through
the metal detector walks Don Imus. After clearing the opening he proceeded to collect his items from the X-ray belt and out comes his Cowboy Hat!

He He He, Is that a 70 Lb. hat sir?
