This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The Oshkosh Warbird area count (privately owned, non-Govt.) annually runs between 350 and 500+ the last week of each July. They all fly in and all fly home.
Gotta love it.
However, If I could live anywhere in Warbird World, it would be near Chino.

Utopia would never make it as a capitol.

A bit of Texas history .
Houston was an early capitol of Texas.
From the
Handbook of Texas Online:
Austin
The city was established by the three-year-old Republic of Texas in 1839 to serve as its permanent capital, and named in honor of the founder of Anglo-American Texas, Stephen F. Austin.

I like the way you think! I might want to add a few places to the list.

NOT nice...and I don't think they are allowed either.

My 4 time Great Grand Pappy John Hawkins is buried next to his friend Moses Austin in Petosi, Missouri (Stephen F Austin's Daddy) 5 of my relatives went with Stephen to Texas. 3 got executed at Goliad. I should move to Texas! Oh, and Canberra is the Capitol of Australia (won a trivia contest with that once)

Oh heck, it goes both ways and used to be really bad. I don't know where it started but I'm just glad it isn't what it used to be. I happen to like Houston, except for this time of year.
I always figured it was like teenaged boys arguing over whose was bigger, while the quiet one, San Antonio, just went out and got the girls.
And why in the heck would you want the headache of hosting the capitol?

Anyone here, of course, realizes that the whole thing is in jest, right? I never cared for the Dallas vs. Houston debate, as in my opinion, both cities have great places, but they also have places that really suck.
At the end of the day, who cares if Dallas beats Houston, or the other way around? This is Chevy vs. Ford, or Canon vs. Nikon stuff.
Saludos, y'all

I thought those northern boys would give us a list of warbird stashes in their part of Gods country ! All we seem to be getting is static from up Nauth !

Short attention span, I guess....

Nah, we just know y'all cannot count that high. Thats why we keep the headquarters up here and leave the refinin' to y'all.
Seriously, I don't know all the warbirds up here. I didn't even know about the Mustang (besides Cavanaugh's, which is in Dennison) in Addison until I found out here.

Nuthin' doin'.
You see, Yankees don't get too excited when Suthun folk start flappin' their gums.
If ya'll get annoying enough we'll be back, whup up on ya' again until you cry uncle, and then head home for lunch.
The truly confusing things about Texas are why it:
a) can't brew decent beer
b) can't figure out how to host a really big airshow
c) has to put big stickers on everything
