I had the good fortune to visit the restoration team in their awesome new hanger a few weeks ago while traveling on business. I had read about the project, but I was amazed at the progress these guys are making on the fuselage! One of their volunteers, Paul, was very generous with his time and spent a bunch of time with me showing me the latest updates-- hats off to you guys!

Thanks for the pictures. The progress is very impressive.

When they were in their previous hangar, I was watching 2 or 3 time per week the progress made: It was impressive to see step by step the reborn of this plane ;-)

Beautiful work, love to see the progress photos. So, we have what two B-17 restorations going on? This one and the Desert Rat?

The C/L B-17 team recovered significant portions of the B-17 wreck in Alaska at the end of this summer. I think their plan was to use the pieces for parts and patterns for Chapaigne Lady.

I believe there was a thread here on WIX.
