Desoto: It looks a wreck? Does the mean that the airframe no longer exists as the last entry I have for it was:

Vampire FB 31 A79-422 cockpit section, Sydney, NSW (private); rear section, HARS (private)

Thanks Ashley... very interesting. :(

I wonder where the ejection seat rail & windscreen ended up?

The remains of the fuselage of A79-422 as photograghed at HARS in 2012.

Wings & engine have been removed (wings in outside storage & original Nene engine now on display in the HARS foyer area). Fuselage fuel tank & engine mounts since removed for possible future use with A79-160 restoration.

listed last month & went unsold, and has been listed again on ebay

Here for sale is an ex-nowra RAN DH Vampire A79-840 RAF number 4108 model T34-34A delivery date 9/1954 History - was sold to the Ballarat Aviation Museum on 7/1971. I acquired the aircraft from Victoria and purchased more spares for resoration plus a purchased as in the photo a second cockpit ex-raaf trainer (one with the orange nose) complete to restore original navy pod. There is virtually 4 tail booms, (2 original & 2 late model) spare wing intakes, spare amo shute doors, spare gun doors, spare rudders. There is a second canopy frame and one good canopy professionally polished (not broken) (in the photo prior to being cleaned) There is just far too much to list. This is one of six navy vampires that has not crashed, the other one is in the Nowra aviation museum. This aircraft owes me well over $29,000. If you have any questions please call me on 0424989251 David.

Sorry but no further info on those
You may like to note that Dick also has the cockpit pod of A79-660
Another not on your list Jeff Trappet has A79-659 at Traralgon

I am in the process of updating the Vampire page including highlighting the location of all survivors
The new page is at http://www.adf-serials.com/2a79.htm
It is still a work in progress but I hope to have it finished by this weekend
I welcome any input or photos that anyone can supply

Hi,

I'm trying to chase down a few Vampires in WA A79-606 in particular, I looked at the register and forum post, but Stirling Crescent, Hazelmere doesn't actually cross the swan river, any help would be welcome.

Cheers
