John Mohr puts on the best Stearman airshow act I've ever seen. And his PT-17 has the stock W670 on it so his routine really shows off HIS talent as a pilot more so than the capabilities of the aircraft itself.

On a side note, Chuck, in your picture of Mr. Weeks' P-63, it looks to me like their could be a Lysander peeking over the 'Cobra's shoulder. Or are my eyes just seeing what I want them to see. That isn't the former G-BCWL is it? Do you (or anybody else that was at Sun 'n Fun) have any photos of that bird?

Thanks.......

Steve

This is the same Precious Metel that was built by my father for World Jet in 88, that year during a race the prop went flat and the pilot put it down in the lemon dry lake bed just outside the course. My dad rebuilt Precious Metel after the crash. In the first picture the other mustang is the original Precious Metel that later went down in the gulf a few years later. Here are a few pics from the past.

Great photos. You wouldn't by any chance have anyone of the Merlin racer too, would you? Did they have a complete 51 to start out with when building the Griffon racer, or just a bunch of parts?
