Not until at least after Oshkosh - Please! On the other hand, if I could get a company to sponsor our L-5, I have a good idea of how it could get good ground visibility and still look better with the paint they'd buy us. Still looking however. I'd still like to have a go at whoever decided that the desert scheme was a good thing to go on ole' "Warbug" (no longer).

Obergrafter, you're saying much more about yourself than you are the plane...

OK so I will never be an ambassador to France, not one of our top allies anyway, but does anyone know what that is? I thought I knew airplane types fairly well, but that thing has me stumped. I thought the Storch was ugly, but that thing takes ugly to a new level.

OK, I'll fess up. I thought I knew, but I din't.

As to the French ambassador role, let's remember who stood by the founding fathers when William 3's boys were cutting up rough in N America. They weren't called the Lafayette Squadron because it sounded cute. There's important history there.

Oh, gee--cutie indeed. Want!

There was a husband-and-wife aerobatic team, the "French Connection," who flew a pair of very appealing French planes, that for the life of me I can't remember the name of now, even though I can see them in my mind plain as day. They were beautiful. I want one of them too. If I can ever remember what they were. I guess I will have to go Google.

One thing about the French, they can make some beautiful airplanes. All the way from Nieuports to Mirages, they always seem to consider the lines of the thing. as being equal in importance to the performance, if not more so.

Sweet-lookin' airplane, that.

Oh, sure. But just to keep a kind of balance, some of the ugliest, too.

The pre-war 'Multiplace de Combat' offences to greenhouses-with-wings, and then some (not all) of the postwar experimental types. The Leducs looked like Captain Nemo would place a big order, but not the air force (which didn't).

See the 'Septum', one of the few of Howdy Bixby's planes that looks credible!

Those are pretty funny. I especially like that Caproni pushmi-pullyu.

But ... the "Septum?" Bwahahaha!

You should see the Societe Pour la Aviation et ses Derievees "Uvula." Now, there's a design that'll gag you!
