Great photos and video Jason! Thanks for posting.

The Bf 109 in the video doesn't sound very healthy though.... :?

I wouldn't say "not healthy", just not tuned right.

A little tweak to the needle valve and all will be well!

Probably no drop tank, one came with the FW190-A5 but it went into storage. It's probably a liability thing, they have 2 500 lb. GP bombs that are sometimes on the P-47 or P-51 but they are always removed before flight.

Knowing that if they did fly them with the bombs aboard, some Luddite from Mukilteo would sue them for attempting to bomb Mukilteo (no loss), Personally, CAN NOT WAIT until they fly the Mig-29 this coming Summer    :ouch: 'How's THAT for jet noise????'

Now here's something noteworthy... FHC has finally released their summer flying schedule... I don't know about you folks, but I'm pretty happy with this lineup! They finally listened to the fans and have the 109 and 190 scheduled for two separate events.

Now here's a question, what do you think would be cooler to see? The P-40 vs. Zero, Hellcat vs. Zero, or IL-2 vs. Fw-190? I think for historical sake it would have to be the Eastern Front Fw-190 vs. the IL-2. Just think of that history! The ONLY original 190 (plus one that was an Eastern Front bird, nonetheless) flying with the ONLY airworthy IL-2? Man, that will be cool! The rest will be pretty cool (I LOVED seeing Bud Granley chasing the Zero last summer in both the Mustang and P-40!) so I'm psyched for this summer's events. Now lets just hope for decent (enough!) flying weather, and fewer gremlins! :-)

OK, now that I've calmed down... enjoy a few extra photos of FHC's first flight of their Hellcat!

Another nice smokey start with cowling panels removed.

With a puff of smoke, she comes alive, moments prior to first flight!

And another video, this time taking a small glimpse into its final restoration with a few pictures I was able to grab over the last year...

Enjoy!

Admittedly I'd be happy to witness any of these fly days. Some very impressive hardware!
BUT!! What about flyin' 'em all at once?
They could almost give the famous "Balbo" at Flying legends a run for its' money!

Thanks as always Jason, for the great shots and your coverage of this marvelous collection.
Have they let you past the fence yet? You get my vote. Which, of course, is worth exactly what you paid for it!

I guess the rumors around FHC were wrong, the Mig 29 isn't on the schedule. Disappointment :( :?
It did sound to good to be true.

Thanks for the vote, Andy! :-) I'm working on getting to the other side.

Man, that sure would be something, to see them all fly on the same day. Doesn't even have to be all at once, especially with them being out-numbered, planes to pilots.

Alang - Bummer. Perhaps things may change for the MiG before summer's over.

The Facebook page mentioned "new planes" will be on display. So do they just mean the Hellcat and the MiG or will we be surprised by something from storage?

I guess I'll find out on Friday. My Dad sure picked the right time to visit.

The new hanger grand opening/free day is April 12th. Not sure you'll be able to access both hangers before then.

The only thing "new" is the Hellcat, the Sherman, and a couple other ground based equipment... I think I saw some German search lights in there while the hangar doors were open a while ago. Right now they have the Thunderbolt, Mustang, Zero, Hellcat, T34/85, Hetzer and MiG-29.

My wife and I will be attending their members only event the night of the 11th... May have some info that evening to share.
