Hi--
Seem to be several threads concurrent here! Some of us are responding to one question, some to another. I'll do two:
QUESTION 1: Extinct types to replicate
1. deHavilland DH-103 Hornet (using composites?)
2. Vought F5U-1 (to see how it'd perform...at Reno maybe

)
3. Heinkel 100D (sleek little beast)
4. Armstrong Whitworth Siskin III (RCAF's first fighter)
5. Fairey Fantome (just because it's gorgeous)
6. Folland SE4 (four-blade prop/two-row engine/bubble canopy...in 1914!)
QUESTION 2: Rarities to replicate/restore to fly
1. Hawker Tempest II (with R3350, to make things easier...)
2. Hawker Typhoon
3. Junkers 87 Stuka
4. Lavochkin La5FN (with R2600--as Tempest suggestion above)
5. Kyushu J7W Shinden (...to go head to head with the F5U at Reno!)
6. Nieuport-Delage 29 (just because it looks cool)
