Don't worry!
O'Leary is the Editor and Chief Photographer for "Air Classics" Magazine.
I don't think he is involved directly with the show. He merely reports on it and they give him opportunities to shot air-to-air shots!

To answer your question, the organizing committee of Thunder Over Michigan is comprised completely of members of the Yankee Air Museum.
Aviation magazine editors, photographers, etc. are there for coverage of the show for their respective publications.

I'm not sure which AD Brent has, but the only other AD5W I know of besides mine is Bu 135152 which has belonged to Hank Avery for some time. Last time I talked to them they were kicking around the idea of perhaps selling it. Maybe it's that one.

Kind of adding on to the medium bombers, I'd love to see a couple of A-26s, maybe a Harpoon. Maybe a couple of Pacific theater fighters like a Wildcat, Hellcat.

I might actually make it this year, as the shift in date fits my calendar much better. I wouldn't make the trip for just B-25s, no matter how many, but if you put together Thunder's "usual" extraordinary lineup of various types, I would. I always like to see the Canadian stuff so how about the Russell birds again and as many of VWC's as possible, including the stringbag if ready. A return visit by the Lanc would also be nice but, if it isn't cost effective to get it to fly in the show, don't bother. I also notice CWH's B-25 "Grumpy" isn't on your list yet.

Vintage Wings hope for a first fligt in the spring or early summer so it will be ready for the air show season. However, being new to them, they don't want to take the fish too far from home base. However, they said that about the Hurricane as well. They were ready to go, so they went!

I'd love to see a line up of a few A-26s, that might force me to make the trip (I'm a bit up in the air right now about being able to make the show again even though I really want too).

Well, if you are asking....another attempt at some of the Spitfires that could not make it last year would be nice.

Not an aircraft request but a flying order request that would benefit the photographers. Have you ever considered swapping the flying order from one day to the next. The sun makes it nearly impossible to shoot aircraft as the afternoon goes on. By swapping the flying order all aircraft in attendance would get an opportunity to fly during decent lighting.

Whatever goes first on Saturday, goes last on Sunday etc. I understand about keeping the " theme " aircraft till near the end to keep the crowd but it is my feeling that the crowd that really wants to see the theme aircraft for the most part are the photogs, many of whom pay for the pit pass etc.

Just a lttle something that I hope you would consider. Any other photogs agree with me on this issue or am I being unreasonable :?:

Thanks for the suggestion.
With our planned site layout change, the crowds and photographers will be facing more to the Northwest (versus directly West). The sun should be even more favorable for photos all day. We are planning to have the crowds parallel to 23L 5R rather than almost perpendicular to it as in the past.
As for reversing the line-up, that could only be partially accomplished as some performers have "hard times" on their performance windows.

It would be nice to see what could be swapped swapped. I was able to get some nice shots of Eric in the Skyraider Sunday morning :D . Satuday was pretty much hopless as was the flight later in the day. :(

The shift in the show direction sounds great also! I bet that would help out a ton for us camera bugs. :wink:
