I would like to take this opportunity to add my uncle George Cincala who died this last Spring. He was with the 1st Marines, 1st Pioneer Battalion on Guadalcanal in 1942. George fought at the Battle of the Tenaru. He told me that he spent a night in a foxhole with Joe Foss. I was able to retrace his path across the mouth of the Tenaru when I visited Guadalcanal last year.

I am not a vet myself but my father was. He spent twenty years in the Navy and has over 100 launches and recoveries aboard carrier as plane captian/flight engineer sitting bass ackward in an A-3 Skywarrior with no ejection seats. He never served in a combat theater (though he was in a EP-3 chased by a North Korean MiG) but you can't tell me he didn't put his life on the line for his country.

If you served, in whatever capacity, you should be proud. I know I am proud of all of you.

I wasn't on WIX on Veterans Day, however, I don't suppose the day matters as much as the sentiment. Thank you all, most sincerely, for serving our country and protecting the freedoms that we all enjoy. I am proud to be associated with such a fine group of men and women.

Given the recent thread on "are you an airline person", here's a bump to this thread.

My Reserve unit was mobilized for 6 mos so I've traded the red/white/blue jet for grey, flying the sandy skies in the Mighty Herk.
