P-47G "Snafu" successfully made its first post restoration flight today at Duxford Airfield in the capable hands of Pete Kynsey

Whilst we may have to be patient for the next flight in the test program as the engineers work on a couple of tweaks ~ I'm sure that we see all the
hard work that has gone into this restoration in all its glory at this years Flying Legends Air Show at Duxford on June 30th - July 1st.

The Fighter Collection team have done a magnificent job and have every right to be very proud of their achievements with this aircraft :drink3:

Goosebumps.........incredible work TFC! Something about the soul of that airplane really does it. Quite a tribute to the airmen of the past.

"Snafu" made two more test flights on Monday May 28th 2012 at Duxford Airfield .....

Image

Image

The return from the second flight came as a thunderstorm skirted along the horizon behind the airfield

Image

And finally .....

One of The Fighter Collections engineering team got to fly next to John Dibbs in the back of the photo-ship
for an air to air shoot of the Thunderbolt.

Image

I can't wait to see the results of the sortie :D
