Made a last-minute stop at FHC today to check on the painting. She's all done! Next addition will be the Flying Tiger decal! The Adam and Eve insignia looks fantastic! I'll bring my camera tomorrow and get some shots for y'all!

FWIW this is from FHC facebook page

Quote:
The RAF-style camouflage pattern used on Flying Tigers planes was applied at the factory. Curtiss employees created large rubber mats to mask parts of the wings and fuselage as the green over tan was sprayed on. FHC staffers and painters made their own set of mats to get the “camo pattern” just right. They even intentionally created inconsistent lines where the fuselage and wings met—they were painted individually at the Curtiss factory.

WarbirdNoseArt, welcome to WIX, are you responsible for the great artwork on the FHC P-40?

T Landers... Wow, that is one heck of a find! Amazing to think it survived. I am sure it will go to a good home, what an historic item.

Started reading some of your stories. Ha! $5 Stella reminded me of the Mason Williams tune about his first guitar, $13 Stella...I reckon with a full set of strings he had to pay a bit more.

Though I don't agree with what has been done in relation to the authenticity, I will agree that what has been completed looks fantastic.

Well done Mick. Can think of 1-2 other project that you care easily qualified to do!

regards

MS
