Thanks folks, for posting the photos and links.

Jason, that first shot of the P-47 with the cut away R-2800 is particularly stunning!

I really feel sorry for the folks out there who have to watch the same ol' 109, Spitfire and Hurricane chase each other around the patch. My condolences

Jason's pics always make me itchy to get a Canon 10-22 (wide angle lens). If it weren't for that darn never having the money thing...

crowds are getting somewhat jaded seeing the same Bf-109/Spitfire/Hurricane flying all the time

I guess that's kinda like living near Addison, Texas, and having to somehow make do with seeing that same old boring B-29 flying around...

(Sarcasm... a free service I offer)

When is he not? :D

By the way, what does Bud look like without a girl on each arm? I've never seen that!

Bud's a true pilot...birds, babes and beer. I want to be like him when I grow up :drink3:

Bud is a great guy! I have a hard time believing I grew up watching him perform at air shows as a kid, and then I was fortunate to work with him for a short time.

I know this is going to make The Inspector's day... FHC just sent out an E-mail announcing it will be test-flying it's MiG-29UB tomorrow and Friday, and that they also will be having a temporary guest in Hangar 2, in the form of Paul's F-5B Freedom Fighter.

Oh, and in other news, I've got lots of pics of them running and flying the P-40, A6M3, and Fw-190 from a couple weeks ago. They've been quite busy lately! :-) More on that later.

Or, go down to Mukilteos City Hall and wait for all the chickens to show up and start clucking to Mayor Marine about the noise like suing P. Allen will get them anywhere :hide: :hide:
Me and my neighbors all live under NAS Whidbey and pay about zero attention to EFA-18's and EA-6Bs, but then we aren't so self important.

Though it wasn't full afterburner, it was still loud enough to get some attention... the MiG looked good! Will shoot from a different location tomorrow...

That was nothing, currently uploading video from today's second flight, featuring an afterburner takeoff and climb to 17,500' before reaching the Mukilteo ferry.

It was still pretty hazy here when they took off (got a text from the kid, who works in Powerplant Buildup in the 54 building). Pulled up FLIGHTAWARE but not there so switched to PLANEFINDER and saw N 29UB was East of me over the Cascades, went out and I could very faintly hear them for a couple of minutes-even at that distance that bad boy has some serious tonsils!!!!!

20+ years ago we had a very early launch for a 727 freighter out of BADWRENCH (like 0245) I was shooting the breeze with the Captain as final preps were going on waiting to sign off the airworthiness release, this guy was cool as he sat there and yakked and played with a yo-yo and I made some mention on how his departure would make some in Mukilteo angry he got a sly smile on his face and he quizzed me about the slope on the North side of the hill and looked @ his JEPP page for N.B. departures out of KPAE, noticed the hill side sloped away pretty sharply towards the water and over Port Gardner Bay, and as he started up the B-4 stand he said something about a 2 point 15 EPR. They block out, lights on for safety and away he goes, clears the runway, cleans up the airplane and lets it ever so gently slide over the ridge and over the top of the city nose high and tail down pushin' those JT8D's
