I am amazed that video is out. I was given a copy of the original video by the Randolph AFB Safety Officer the day after that happened.

The airplane took off out of our airport and the near miss happened about 3 miles east of the airport right over the Dry Frio river. The area of the near miss is a low altitude training route for the AF and the run north up the river at very low altitude and high speeds.

I was tasked with trying to identify the Baron in the video so that the AF could contact him to see if he even knew what had happened.

My copy of the video, eventually quit working. Nice to see a copy of it again.

I wonder what the ATC had to say about the matter?

I'm going to guess the twin was in the wrong. I think the Air Force should start thier "put you head on a swivel" training just a bit sooner.

Maybe me eyes are bad, but was the T-38's airspeed in the 150-125kt range after the pull-up? The box on the left, correct?
What's stall speed in one of these??

I have to say, that video posted on youtube is a very cleaned up version of the original. ALOT more is said after the "near hit" (to me a near miss is actually a hit ).

It was quite candid conversation and alot of checklists were run through.

I had a near miss with an Allegheny Airlines twin turboprop commuter plane while flying my dad's Cherokee over southern New Jersey once (it's a long story; ask me about it if you ever meet me in person). I gotta state the obvious here... an occurrance like that truly scares the everlovin' daylights out of you!
