What would you paint it up as?

I would paint mine up as a Blue-nosed version. Don't know exactly which one.

Post war bare metal reserve RCAF colours. The same ones that so many of today's survivors last wore in military service!

Look for Maj Gen Don Strait's 356th "JERSEY JERK" in the VERY near future.

He is long deserving of a Mustang in his colors. A complete gentleman and patriot ! 87 and going strong !

I would paint it up in a civil scheme, probably black and blue.

If I could have a B it would be Shangri-La

If it were a D it would be either Jersey Jerk or a 20th FG airplane maybe Happy Jacks Go Buggy or Cy Dolyaks 352nd FG "Ex Lax sht...in Git"...natural metal, not polished.

YEAH! With a big double bordered N number plastered down the side, and a really cool lightning bolt type stripe.
You could drive up and get out of your Avanti and go flying in your other relic from the 60's!

Whew! did I really say that?

Remember when it wasnt cool to have you warbird painted as a warbird?
I love the vintage look of the old p-51s/invaders/howards but no thanks, hopefully "Stars and Bars" will stay cool for a long time to come!

If you could own a P-51...

I'd sell it and buy an A-26 Invader, an A-1 Skyraider, a T-6 Texan, and OH-6 Cayuse and probably have money left over for a house
