I never saw an L-39 do this in the states

I saw the patriots do almost all of that stuff at the moffett airshow a couple of years back.

Dan McCue, when he got his first L-39 back in the early 90's, used to do tail slides as part of his act here on the East Coast. From what was said, the L-39 is one of the few jets that won't flame out when one is done... 'course, that was just the announcer talking.

It was pretty impressive. I was watching them practice before the show. Had no idea what they were going to do, and the dude apparently stalled/tail slide the jet. I didn't know they could do that. It was pretty cool, everyone watching was impressed.

Yes, they did formation tailslides at the Pittsburg Seafood Festival a few months back. As you say, pretty impressive.

Cue some gratuitous Patriots L-39 shots.........
